Wilderness canoe tripping

Since 2023, each summer has meant about six weeks in the canoe-tripping country of Northern Ontario and Québec—long days on the water and portage trails, living out of packs, and working closely with a small crew.

Those seasons layered resilience, navigation, and backcountry judgment, and showed me how much a group can accomplish when everyone pulls together.

Summers on trip

2023 — 6 weeks First full summer on trip: building a base in paddling, portaging, camp routine, and traveling safely as a team through remote lakes and rivers.
2024 — 6 weeks A deeper season on longer routes—more confidence reading weather and water, tighter navigation, and clearer communication when plans had to change.
